Engineering services for K-12

Sage Engineering’s team of 35 professionals including 15 licensed engineers, has provided engineering services for K–12 school facilities throughout New York State for more than two decades. Our work includes capital improvement programs, HVAC modernization, boiler and heating system upgrades, building condition surveys, security and access control systems, and infrastructure improvements that support safe and reliable school operations.

Our engineers collaborate with school districts, architects, and construction managers to develop practical solutions that improve building performance while maintaining operations in occupied facilities. Many projects are completed as part of district-wide capital improvement programs or long-range facility planning efforts.

Sage understands the operational challenges unique to school projects, including construction phasing around the academic calendar, maintaining ventilation and heating service during renovations, and coordinating construction activities in fully occupied school buildings.

Our team is highly familiar with the New York State Education Department’s Manual of Planning Standards and the SED review and approval process. We routinely coordinate with architects and districts to prepare design documents that comply with SED requirements and support efficient project approvals.

While Sage has extensive experience with K–12 facilities, our firm also serves higher education, state government, public safety, laboratories, and commercial clients.
