New Data Center

New York State Office for Technology

Albany, New York

Sage Engineering Associates, LLP provided design services for this new data center located in an existing building. Sage Engineering designed power for the 5,000 square foot data center and the associated HVAC support equipment.  Sage also analyzed existing building service entrance and generator capacities against proposed data center loads, and field verified existing loads and distribution system. Various design options were analyzed and presented to the data center administrators.  In addition, Sage designed security and surveillance systems to meet the unique requirements of this secure facility.  The mechanical systems included two-100% redundant, 270 air cooled chillers which provided chilled water for cooling of nine computer room air conditioning units which delivered their capacity below the computer center raised floor.

Electrical Rehabilitation to Existing Campus Data Center

State University of New York at Albany

Albany, New York

Sage Engineering Associates, LLP provided design services to upgrade existing power capacity at the existing Data Center, including evaluation of the existing Data Center electrical service and the existing building service. Additional distribution panels were designed for installation in the Data Center to serve newly installed server racks. The existing circuiting was identified and reorganized to improve the electrical distribution system documented conditions.

Data Center Electrical and Mechanical Upgrades

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation

Albany, New York

Sage Engineering Associates designed the electrical upgrades to an existing data center to provide capacities outlined in the data center's five year plan.  Sage worked closely with DEC data center staff to create a detailed execution plan to limit electrical interruptions to a single shutdown to the data center.  The execution plan also included sequenced tasks for construction trades and HVAC trades work.  A single 100KVA UPS was replaced by four 120KVA units with increased computer power distribution and full redundancy.
