Building 81 Addition Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc Rensselaer, New York
Sage Engineering Associates, LLP provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural engineering design services for a 16,000 square foot addition consisting of laboratory and office spaces. An 18,000 cfm air handling unit and variable air volume (VAV) distribution system provided heating, ventilation and cooling to the laboratory and office spaces. Constant volume fume hoods exhausted laboratories. New HVAC equipment was connected to existing plant steam and chilled water systems.

Renovations and Additions to Laboratory Building Biosafety Level 3 (enhanced) Research Facility Slingerlands, New York Sage Engineering Associates, LLP designed a new laboratory at Griffin. This project included the renovation of an existing rabies laboratory building to a new, state-of-the-art research laboratory with Biosafety Level 2 and 3 (enhanced) spaces to research the mosquito-borne West Nile Encephalitis virus on a substantially accelerated design schedule. The existing building size was 3,800 square feet. With new additions, the building enclosed 6,000 square feet. This project also interfaces with a master plan for the site’s power, emergency power, chilled water, domestic water, natural gas, and compressed air. Systems featured in this design include:
